Relay

A shipment rarely travels one way — it changes hands between road, rail, sea and air, and the truth about where it is scatters with it. Relay holds that truth in one place, in real time.

Tracking across modes means reconciling feeds that disagree, arrive late or fall silent. The task was to present one honest position — including honesty about what is not currently known.

We designed Relay to state confidence, not just location: where the shipment is, how fresh that knowledge is, and what the system is inferring when a feed goes quiet. Uncertainty is shown rather than smoothed over.

One timeline per shipment across every mode. The age of each update is always visible. Exceptions — a delay, a missed handover, a silent leg — surface on their own rather than waiting to be discovered.

A map and a timeline that agree: the route, the last known position with its timestamp, and the handovers between modes marked as the seams they are.

A tracking surface an operations team can trust precisely because it admits what it does not know.
